Thank you to all of you who used this website to learn more about the many ways Hennepin County Medical Center serves all of Minnesota: Providing trauma and critical care to all in need, teaching tomorrow’s health care professionals, providing care to the poorest of poor Minnesotans, and coordinating disaster and emergency planning and response are all fundamental needs met by Minnesota’s largest public hospital.

According to the Minnesota Department of Health, the number of Minnesotans without health insurance increased from 374,000 in 2007 to 480,000 in 2009. Now, state funding is being cut and hospitals are being asked to shoulder more of the cost of providing care. Hennepin County Medical Center is focusing on the future and working with the state and other hospitals to plan how to best meet the needs of General Assistance Medical Care patients, even as funding from the state is reduced.

Minnesota relies on Hennepin County Medical Center to provide critical care in critical times. Your support is more important now than ever. Please continue to stay informed about Hennepin’s many vital roles and how you can help us continue to fulfill those roles at willyoulose.org.
